But behind the shock value lies a less glamorous reality: generative AI is turning into a capital-intensive industry, tightly controlled by a handful of infrastructure giants.
Where the $60B figure comes from and what it really means
This is not a classic $60B equity round. The figure aggregates multiple potential commitments: infrastructure build-outs, GPU purchases, long-term cloud contracts, and selective capital injections.
In practice, much of this money would:
